What started as class projects and shower thoughts turned into the amazing films witnessed at the films festival. On Friday, January 19th, students from TO gathered to show off their hard work through films. With a wide variety of horror films, documentaries, and dramas. The awards won at the end of the night showed the dedication and time these students put into their films. 

The awards include: 

Lead Actor: Carson Waldrep in the film Wisteria

Best supporting actor: Ava Kramer in the film Crossroads

Best Script: Crossroads

Directing: Senior Dog

Best Cinematography: Wisteria

The Senior Dog: Lizzie Lack, Ava Kramer 

With extra help from his friends, Senior Braeden Woolley said “The whole process took two and a half months.”

 Spending his lunch doing homework, he wanted as much time at home working on his film Edge of Space. Going to Moorpark College and seeing the one-act plays, Woolley was able to find the perfect actors for his film. Even after all the late nights spent on his film, he believes that there is always room for improvement.

 “Going there and seeing it projected or whatever, it was weird in a way,” Woolley said. 

Being able to see his project presented to classmates and friends was an experience to him, “You spend hours editing, replaying parts and the words over and over again.

Seeing it spoken on screen in a room full of people was so interesting,” Woolley said. 

Having professional judges judge the films created more competition among the students.

 Senior Catelin Flores was a big part of the film’s crossroads. Starting out as a theater project with Flores and her friends, they were able to win best script at the festival. 

With great experience, Flores said “This was the first year that I’ve been a part of creating one of the films instead of just one. It was a different experience, and I would definitely do it again.”   

The great experiences made are now captured in their hard-working films. Congratulations to everyone, and congratulations to those who won awards.
