Boy’s Basketball Looks to Rebound

As we approach the end of the season, the Lancers boys basketball team continues to thrive. After a tough loss to Calabasas on Friday,Jan. 29, the team looks to rebound back. Despite the loss the team still feels like they put out a great performance.

“I do not think [the loss] will negatively affect us because our goal is now to win the rest of our games and get the highest possible seed going into playoffs,” Taylor Wilderom, junior varsity point guard, said.

The team all seem to agree that they need to forget about the loss.

“As long as we just put it behind us and get ready for our next games,” sophomore varsity center Tyler Brabant said.

The team is already focused on moving on and keeping their heads up.

“We hope to win these last four league games so we can put ourselves in a good position for playoffs,” Amman Asfaw, senior varsity power forward, said.

The team all have their eyes set on working hard and winning the rest of the games this year.

“To get back from this loss, we need to hae two really good weeks of practice to hopefully finish out league on a good note,” Brabant said.

The Green Hole’s impact is evident in both home and away games..

“Having a group like the Green Hole really persuades us to get out there and always give them a good performance,” Asfaw said.

The team really appreciates the support they get from the fans and get good encouragement from the fans to do the best they can,

“The gym was electric and loud which gave us a huge advantage,” sophomore varsity small forward Sedrick Abrams said.

The team feels they are having a very good season, still with playoffs in sight.

“The playoffs are definitely open for us if we work hard these next couple weeks,” Brabant said.

The team has some very important games coming up including this Friday, Feb. 5 against Westlake.

“We’re real excited, because Westlake has always been one of our biggest rivals and because we expect the Green Hole to be in full force.” Asfaw said.

The team hopes to see everybody out at there next couple of games to help them finish off a great season.
