Walking onto the pool deck, the team was, as usual, looking for the win. This game was important for the team because it was a rematch of last year’s CIF wild card game. The game started off with strong defensive stands from both teams.
The Lancers took the first goal, then one unfortunate turnover led to five straight goals from the Celts. As the game progressed, and the halftime buzzer sounded the score read 5–2. The Lancers started to battle back and made it 9–7, but the team fell short in an 11–7 loss.
As the boys water polo season comes to an end, I talked postgame vs Crespi with two stars of the team, Stephen Blaauw and Seif Elmankabadi to recap the season and discuss the changes that could be made to find success for the remainder of the season and for next year.
